Typewriter Basics – Use and Care

You bought your first typewriter — now what?

This class covers typewriter basics, including:

• the parts of a typewriter, what they do, and what they’re called (what the heck is a “platen”?)

• correct typing technique and posture (what is a “staccato touch”?)

• shortcuts and formatting options (what do all these buttons do and what does “mar rel” mean?)

This class also covers further topics of typewriter use, including:

• basic care and cleaning

• changing the ribbon

• dealing with sticky keys

• knowing when to consult a professional

Meetings begin promptly at 9:00am on the 2nd Saturday of the month. The event fee is $20 and limited to 6 people.
